I'm pleased to have contributed to the latest global edition of Window & Faรงade Magazine, where I explore a topic I'm passionate about: ๐ฌ๐๐ฎ ๐๐รง๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ง๐๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐๐จ๐จ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ข๐ค๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข ๐ค๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐ฉ๐ค๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐จ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐. The article discusses an issue many professionals will recognise. Two competent assessors can look at the same building and sometimes reach very different conclusions. In my view, competence is fundamental, but competence alone isn't enough. As scrutiny from regulators, insurers and funders continues to increase, assessments also need to be underpinned by a structured, transparent and evidence-based methodology that others can understand, challenge and ultimately have confidence in. If you have an interest in external wall systems, PAS 9980 or the future direction of faรงade fire risk assessment, I hope you'll find it an interesting read. ๐ฐ You can read the article on pages 4โ9 of the latest edition here: https://lnkd.in/ehHETiKu My thanks to the editorial team at WFM Media - Window & Faรงade Magazine - for the opportunity to contribute to what is an important and evolving conversation. #BuildingSafety #PAS9980 #FireSafety #Facades #ExternalWalls #BuildingSurveying ๐
