Turnaround Engineer 📍 Houston, TX 🕒 12-Month Contract 🏭 Chemicals / Energy TEC Group International is supporting a leading global chemicals manufacturer in the search for an experienced Turnaround Engineer to join their Houston-based operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex plant shutdowns and capital projects within a safety-driven, high-performance environment. The Opportunity As a Turnaround Engineer, you’ll act as a technical expert supporting the Turnaround Manager across all phases of the turnaround lifecycle—from planning through execution and close-out. You’ll also step into a Deputy Turnaround Manager capacity when required, making this an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to take on greater leadership responsibility. Key Responsibilities 🔧 Define and manage the full turnaround scope for plant shutdowns 📊 Track scope, progress, and costs using planning systems 🤝 Act as the key interface between engineering, planning, and operations 🛠 Review inspection and maintenance data to develop work scopes 📁 Prepare technical documentation and material requirements 🏗 Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repairs and fabrication 📅 Support planning activities and resolve technical issues 📢 Provide clear reporting and updates to stakeholders 🔄 Support additional site projects outside turnaround periods Safety First You’ll play a critical role in maintaining a best-in-class safety culture, ensuring all turnaround activities meet strict HSE standards and contractor work is executed safely and compliantly. What We’re Looking For ✔ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) ✔ 8+ years’ experience in chemical or process plant environments ✔ Proven experience with turnarounds/shutdowns ✔ Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, API, ASTM) ✔ Experience with SAP PM and planning tools (Primavera P6 / MS Project) ✔ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills ✔ Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments Why Apply?
