Good sleep plays a powerful role in young people’s mental and physical health, yet many struggle to get it right. Through its partnership with Black Dog Institute, nib foundation has helped expand Sleep Ninja®, from a digital app to a school‑based program, giving young people practical tools to understand their sleep and build healthier habits. Over the past three years, this partnership has seen: - 76% of app users reporting reduced insomnia symptoms, supporting healthier sleep and daily functioning. - Extended reach to communities with fewer health services, with one‑third of users living in regional or remote areas. Overall, this has seen 21,000 individuals using the app. - Supported the development of a new, curriculum‑aligned classroom program, piloted with 500 Year 7 - 8 students across four schools, where 83% of students said the lessons changed how they think about sleep - Highlighted sleep as an essential but often overlooked pillar of chronic disease prevention for young people.
