nib is helping strengthen capability across the NDIS sector by connecting providers with practical training that supports safer, more consistent care. Through nib Thrive, Anowah Community Living was connected with Diabetes Australia, our nib foundation Better Health Partner, to take part in their pilot program for safe insulin injection training for support workers. This initiative aims to address a gap in training, as there is currently no nationally standardised training program for disability support workers who assist with insulin administration. Through this partnership, organisations are coming together around a shared goal: improving care delivery and outcomes through real-world training. As a result, frontline teams at Anowah Disability Services have gained practical, evidence-based skills to confidently support diabetes management. It’s a strong example of how nib can bring the right partners together to support better care in the community.
