Our biggest takeaway from The Circularity Gap Report 2026? ▶️ The future of interior design will belong to products that are not only beautiful and high-performing, but also designed to stay valuable beyond first use! The report puts a number on what the linear economy destroys: an estimated €25.4 trillion in avoidable annual value loss. That is a powerful reminder that circularity is not just about waste. It is about protecting value. If we want materials to keep their value, we have to stop designing products that are impossible to separate and recycle. We need to start with simplicity. - Design with one or two pure materials. - Avoid unnecessary complexity. - Enable easy disassembly.  - Create products that can move into reuse and high-value recycling instead of landfill, incineration, or downcycling. For interior design, this means eco-design is no longer a niche sustainability topic. It is a strategic design principle. Because the products that will lead tomorrow’s market are not just the ones that perform beautifully in their first life, but the ones that are intentionally designed for what comes next. That is how we move from waste thinking to value thinking. And that is how circularity becomes real.
