‘I have always felt supported here. I want to make other people feel the same way.' Meet Olivia 👋. At just two years old, she became seriously ill with meningitis and underwent a triple amputation. Supported by North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s prosthetics team and lots of new legs, Olivia was able to grow in confidence and develop greater independence. Now, after two decades as a patient, she’s preparing to join the NHS as a mental health nurse, carrying the compassion and care she experienced as a patient into her own career.
