Ed was just 27 when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. After noticing some pain, a visit to his GP led to an ultrasound and a blood test – confirming one of his testicles had changed shape. ‘You just never expect to hear the words ‘you’ve got cancer’. I was meant to be moving into my first home with my partner, not dealing with cancer.' But catching it early made all the difference. Scans showed it hadn’t spread, and within weeks Ed had surgery followed by a short course of chemotherapy. ‘Less than three months after my diagnosis, I was told I was cancer-free.’ Now, Ed is supporting the NHS and Morrisons partnership putting cancer awareness messaging on shower gel to remind people to check their body in the moment they’re best placed to do so. Next time you lather up, take a moment to be body aware. If you spot anything unusual, contact your GP. In most cases it won’t be anything serious, but finding cancer early makes it easier to treat and can save lives.
