The NH90 continues to evolve to meet operators’ needs. At #NUC2026, Sebastiano Felice and Oliver Heller, respectively NH90 Core Programme Manager at Leonardo Helicopters and Airbus Helicopters, highlighted how NHIndustries and its industrial partners are continuously evolving the NH90 to meet emerging operational requirements. Software Release 3 (SWR3) introduces Data Link 22, a secure NATO tactical data link system that enables communications without relying on satellites, further enhancing the aircraft's operational performance across a broad range of missions for both the TTH and NFH variants. Looking ahead, Block 2 will mark the next major evolution of the platform, delivering enhanced capabilities while paving the way for the next generation of rotorcraft.
