Today, a russian drone struck a clearly marked evacuation vehicle operated by PULSE Consortium partner https://lnkd.in/dmaFPeXq . Two of the four civilians being evacuated from Oleksievo-Druzhkivka were killed. The remaining two evacuees and the driver were wounded and suffered blast injuries. We extend sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Civilians must not be targeted. The bus was clearly marked as humanitarian, a fact that was deliberately disregarded. This incident represents another documented violation of International Humanitarian Law by russia. Individuals fleeing shelling and those who evacuate them require protection throughout the entire evacuation process. The risks are significant, and current gaps in safety measures have proven fatal. We urge all humanitarian organisations and donors to act urgently and invest in life-saving solutions. Priority should be given to: armoured vehicles for evacuation routes; drone detection systems; adequate personal protective equipment for crews and passengers. Safe passage is a basic obligation, not a privilege. Right to Protection Caritas Ukraine Voices of Children Proliska The League of the Strong Helping to Leave The HALO Trust
