In March, Yuliya Sporysh (Dr Yuliya Sporysh), Director of NGO Girls, joined a series of international events in New York as part of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70). During CSW70, discussions focused on conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), gender equality, and civil preparedness. Ukrainian experience was presented as highly practical, shaped by ongoing disruptions, limited resources, and the need to maintain services during blackouts and instability, while also contributing to broader international approaches. Yuliya took part in the CSW70 side event “From Principles to Voices: Survivor-Centered Global CRSV Practices and Survivor Stories from Ukraine”, as well as “Empowering Resilience – Gender Equality, Power and Civil Preparedness in Ukraine”, organized by Sweden, Ukraine and Poland. Beyond CSW, she also joined a number of key events and meetings in New York. These included “Celebrating Her Success: A UK–NY Women’s Business Exchange”, organized by the British Consulate General New York and Women.NYC, and “Ukraine Tech: On the Battlefield and Beyond”, hosted by the Ukrainian Institute of America, which brought together experts to discuss wartime innovation, AI, and emerging technologies in Ukraine. In addition, Yuliya held meetings with partners, opening space for future collaboration and joint initiatives. We are grateful for these opportunities to engage with international partners, and we look forward to continuing to build and strengthen partnerships to support communities and survivors in Ukraine!
