Last week Bradley Nickell, Chief Engineer at Nexus Power, presented on the Hoover Dam Transformer Repair project at the 92nd International Conference of Doble Clients in Boston. Nexus Power and Hitachi Energy completed the repair of a failed 230kV generator step-up transformer in 2024. The failure and repair of the transformer was the subject of a best practices paper authored by Bradley Nickell and Benjamin Few from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The project was managed by Mark Bentson out of the Nexus Billings office.
