149.9 metres. Three turntables. Four cables laid at once. Yesterday in Oslo, below the walls of Akershus Fortress, CLV Nexans Electra entered operation. She is our newest cable-laying vessel, built for the largest and most demanding subsea projects: offshore wind export systems and long-distance interconnectors, often further offshore and in tougher conditions than ever before. A hybrid power system compatible with biodiesel blends keeps operations more efficient at sea. The inauguration brought together the ecosystem behind a vessel like this: customers, partners, suppliers, public authorities and the teams across Norway and beyond who built her. We were honoured to welcome Dr. Miriam Dalli's Minister for Energy, the Environment and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour, a reminder of how interconnectors now link countries across Europe. Β As a global leader in high-voltage cable systems, Nexans has delivered more than 443 interconnection projects worldwide, representing 46 GW of installed capacity. Electra opens a new chapter, contributing to a more connected, resilient and low-carbon energy system. Β CLV Nexans Electra now joins the fleet and begins her essential work: connecting countries, carrying renewable energy, and laying the foundations of a grid the world depends on without ever seeing it. #ElectrifyTheFuture #Electrification #OffshoreWind #Subsea #EnergyTransition
