NEW SWISS ARCHITECTURE Interview with Marginalia Change from the Margins Marginalia is a La Chaux-de-Fonds–based practice founded by Mélissa Vrolixs. The name, derived from the Latin for side notes or drawings, captures the studio’s ethos: what begins at the margins can grow into something essential. It reflects both a geographical position on the periphery and a philosophy of architecture as a collective act. Working in La Chaux-de-Fonds, near the French border and the city of Neuchâtel, the practice has developed an approach rooted in preservation and heritage, yet always open to adaptation. Its projects are understood less as spectacles and more as acts of care, quietly unblocking, guiding and sustaining buildings into new eras. Marginalia believes that even in new construction there is never a blank page, only a context layered with meaning. READ THE FULL INTERVIEW ON NEW GENS: https://lnkd.in/eZib9Qq3 Images and credits 1.
