š£ Our 2025 Annual Report is here. | https://lnkd.in/eAVKGptt Last year marked 25 years of NAI privacy self-regulation and a pivotal moment for the digital advertising industry. With 21 comprehensive state privacy laws now on the books and enforcement at unprecedented levels, the compliance landscape has fundamentally shifted. The report captures what we learned from our first review cycle under the new NAI Self-Regulatory Framework, including findings from 70+ member privacy reviews: š¹ Written data governance is now a baseline expectation, not a nice-to-have. š¹ Sensitive data classification remains one of the most complex challenges members face. š¹ Conditional rights language ("you may have rights depending on where you live") is being treated by regulators as evidence of noncompliance. š¹ Honoring GPC isn't enough ā regulators now expect businesses to clearly explain how those signals are processed. š¹ Deletion and access requests increasingly cover derived, inferred, and back-end data across distributed environments. Alongside the findings, you'll also find a record of the new tools we released this year ā from the Factor Analysis for Health-Related Sensitive Personal Information, to the Data Governance Checklist, to a user-friendly GPC browser extension ā and a roadmap for the year ahead. After twenty-five years, our mission has never been more important. #Privacy #DigitalAdvertising #AdTech #DataPrivacy #SelfRegulation
