We have been awarded the assignment to support the development of Norway’s new national individual registers for children in kindergarten and primary education, commissioned by the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training (Utdanningsdirektoratet). Today, there are no national overviews of individual-level data for children in kindergartens and primary schools in Norway. This makes it difficult to gain insight into how services actually perform and whether policy measures achieve their intended impact. Better data will provide more precise and relevant knowledge about children’s development and the importance of early childhood and primary education services. We are proud to contribute to an important national initiative that strengthens transparency, the evidence base, and equal opportunities for children across Norway.
