🌿 Last week, Net Impact UW Undergraduate hosted Pathways to Impact: Sustainability Speed Networking, a first of its kind professional development event at the University of Washington. Over 100 students joined us for an evening of learning, connection, and inspiration as we explored what it means to build a career at the intersection of business, policy, and impact. ✨ The event featured a panel of five incredible professionals who are advancing sustainability across industries: • Orla Docherty (Climate & Impact Investments Manager, Microsoft) • Emily K. Brock (Sustainability Project Manager, Weyerhaeuser) • Julia Makiniemi (ESG Reporting Accountant, Costco Wholesale) • Nick Garson (Yves Nicholas Garson) (Environmental Consultant, WSP) • Paul Bloom (Director, Climate Solutions) Following the panel, students participated in rotational networking sessions, connecting one-on-one with speakers to discuss career pathways in impact, policy, and innovation. 💚 We’re grateful to our incredible speakers, volunteers, and partners at Microsoft, Weyerhaeuser, WSP, Costco Wholesale, and Climate Solutions for helping bring this event to life, and to the UW Undergraduate Business Council for their generous support. Stay tuned for what’s next — we’ll see you at the Sustainability Career Fair in Winter 2026! 🌎
