What’s changing? · We’re implementing a new process, approved by Ofgem and designed with industry and government to get Britain connected. · The process prioritises ready-to-go projects that are aligned with Department for Energy Security and Net Zero energy targets. Why clearing the gridlock matters · This gives businesses, investors and communities the certainty they need to unlock up to £40bn in annual investment, create jobs and strengthen supply chains. · The new pipeline puts Britain on track to further strengthen its energy security, whilst tackling affordability through ensuring electricity network is only planned and built where its needed.
