Berlin has enough discussions about housing. What we ACTUALLY need now are projects that really get built. And we are proud to do exactly that. Yesterday, we celebrated the topping-out ceremony of our Job & Wohnen project in Spandau, and it was genuinely impressive to see how far the construction has already progressed. When we had the groundbreaking ceremony in November, there was still almost nothing to see on site. Now, only a few months later, the main structures are already standing, and you can truly begin to see the 112 apartments and the daycare that will be created here. For me, it was magical to see the first walls of the new buildings there. What started as a vision is now turning into real affordable apartments for Berlin. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday and who has contributed to making this project possible. Especially Peter Dr. Diedrich, Frank Bewig, Dr. Hans-Jürgen Völz, Jan Otto and our special surprise guest Sebastian Scheel, who also played an important role in bringing this project to life. If we want Berlin to remain a city where essential workers, skilled professionals and young families can arrive and stay, we need more solutions that actually create homes. That is exactly what we are building in Spandau and beyond.
