We are excited to announce Cory Kapser ‘s promotion to Vice President, Infrastructure and Head of AI at Neo Financial.  Read this quick Q&A with Cory: Q: WHAT'S ONE THING YOU’VE WORKED HARD FOR THIS YEAR? A: Getting AI and automation tools into the hands of everyone at Neo in a way that is responsible and protects our user data. This isn’t something I have accomplished on my own. Many of us across Neo are working toward this goal. Deploying AI, at scale in a secure, privacy-focused way that empowers our team, requires strong partnerships across the organization, specifically with our engineers, data teams, cyber security, architecture, people team and our vendors. We’ve already seen a massive impact on the speed and quality of what our teams deliver, not just our engineers, but everyone across the organization. However, our full deployment journey is far from complete. Moving forward, my focus will be on connecting with teams for bespoke training. Landing on the right user experience is also key, and this is something we’re iterating on daily. There’s an endless choice of tools out there, ranging from domain-specific solutions to general chat interfaces. Finding the right fit with the strict level of security we expect at a fintech is no easy task, but it’s one we are well on our way to solving. Q: WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE FEATURE AT NEO? Cash back rewards. We have a lot of partnerships at Neo with great small businesses which made me a customer for years prior to joining the team. Merchant rewards allow cardholders to earn instant cashback rewards at partnered merchants which can be significant, this is what makes the Neo credit cards so fantastic, compared to the more generic options out there. Whether I’m looking for a place to eat or go shopping for bike parts, I always check the rewards network first. It’s a great nudge to try new-to-me spots, and it keeps me going back. I am a bit of a gamer. For better or worse, the cashback system gamifies the optimization of my spending. Seeing the rewards stack up is incredibly gratifying, and being able to apply them directly against my credit card bill is ultra-satisfying.
