๐ From 2 to 5 June, a broad number of #NEMEMERGE partners participated in the 36th ESN Symposium, presenting their results๐ ๐ ๐ฅ ๐ฌ ๐ฃ๏ธ Seven oral presentations showcased the advancements made and results achieved in the project research activity on: โ๏ธ Managing Globodera rostochiensis in Kenya โ๏ธ Mitochondrial DNA sequencing for tropical Meloidogyne spp. recognition โ๏ธ Globodera pallida's adaptation to masculinising potato resistances โ๏ธ Global distribution of fungal nematode antagonists โ๏ธ Distribution, density and identification of root-knot nematodes in Tรผrkiye โ๏ธ The exobiome of plant-parasitic nematodes โ๏ธ Modulation of soil microbiome with cover crops to suppress the root knot nematode in potato ๐ผ๏ธ Five poster presentations completed the scientific contribution of NEM-EMERGE to the symposium: โ๏ธ Evidence of virulent and avirulent Meloidogyne spp. populations on resistant tomato in Slovenia โ๏ธ Detection of tropical Meloidogyne luci in a tomato field in Slovenia โ๏ธ The resistance response of the Mi-1.2 gene against Meloidogyne luci at high temperatures โ๏ธ DNA sequencing technology to map effects of cover-crops on nematode antagonists โ๏ธ Identifying the molecular mechanisms behind the thermosensitivity of nematode resistance in tomato โจ The icing on the cake was the workshop organised by the three projects PCN Action Scotland, PAPAS: Potatoes and Pests โ Actionable Science Against Nematodes, and NEM-EMERGE ๐ Want to know more?
