In record time, we developed a first of a kind, innovative countermeasure for LLM hallucinations that was swiftly commercialized by NEC as a component of NEC’s GenAI within the NEC BluStellar offering. Our rapid development of the hallucination countermeasure technology highlights NEC's strong commitment to safe, reliable GenAI services. Developed as a stand-alone application that can be used for any LLM, the technology has already been applied to accurately automate complex text-based actions within the banking industry. Its role in advancing the use of LLMs in high-risk scenarios showcases the NEC Way and what is possible when we combine vision, speed and collaboration. The award was presented to Group Research Manager, Dr. Carolin Lawrence by NEC CEO and President Takayuki Morita at the NEC Award 2025 ceremony on August 26 at NEC headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. This achievement reflects how NEC Laboratories Europe enables enterprise-grade GenAI by delivering robust, scalable solutions tailored for high-risk, real-world applications.
