NEC Laboratories Asia Pacific (NLAP) was delighted to host a delegation from South Africa’s Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) https://www.dcdt.gov.za, led by Deputy Minister Mr. Mondli Gungubele. The visit featured an introduction to NEC and its research activities by Christopher Lam, VP and Head of NLAP, followed by live demonstrations of innovations such as privacy‑preserving video technologies, AI‑powered digital concierge solutions, edge‑based video analytics, LiDAR-based human traffic flow analysis, and biometrics‑enabled gateless access. We appreciated the insightful discussions and exchange of ideas on advancing digital transformation with #AI, and look forward to future collaborations.
