🚌🤖 From research to the road: “SUE” is ready for action! The SUE | SELF-DRIVING URBAN E-SHUTTLE research project makes autonomous driving on public roads a tangible reality: To mark the conclusion of the project, an interdisciplinary consortium presented the fully electric people mover on February 11, 2026, designed for real-world use in public transport. What makes it special is that the shuttle was developed and tested entirely in Germany – from the vehicle platform and modular architecture to the autonomous software. The vehicle is designed for speeds of up to 50 km/h and is intended for use in particular where existing services end or new connections are to be created. The project was funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie.   NFF member Prof. Roman Henze and his team led by Philip Wallis, Maximilian Flormann and Marcel Kascha from the Institute of Automotive Engineering at Technische Universität Braunschweig were responsible for the following key tasks in the project: ✅Development and validation of autonomous driving software based on AI-supported object recognition, object tracking, and VRU interaction ✅Integration into modular vehicle platforms for scalable application scenarios in public transport ✅Real-world testing and safety validation, including with the “RAION” test vehicle ✅Preparation for the transition to fully autonomous operation while maintaining the modular architecture   👉 More information: https://lnkd.in/debph7DV ____________ Consortium: Uedelhoven GmbH & Co.
