The most interesting conversations about innovation are rarely just about technology. The 1st Swiss–Greek Innovation Board, co-organised by the Embassy of Switzerland in Greece and NCSR Demokritos, created a space for a strategic exchange between Greece and Switzerland on one central question: how do countries turn scientific excellence into innovation, entrepreneurship and long-term competitiveness? Bringing together leaders from research, industry, investment and public policy, the discussion explored the critical role of talent, institutions, venture creation and international collaboration in shaping the innovation ecosystems of tomorrow. We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their openness, insights and commitment to strengthening Swiss–Greek collaboration in research and innovation, including Stavros Kalafatis, Ambassador Stefan Estermann, Konstantinos Fountas, Maira Myrogianni, George Zavvos, Yannis Terzis, Vangelis Karkaletsis, George Nounesis, George Doukidis, Prof. Panayiotis KETIKIDIS, BSc, MSc, Ph.D., Emmanuel Stratakis, Christos Markou, Thanos Paraschos, Benoit Dubuis, Martin Müller, Marieke HOOD, Robert Rudolph, Markus Aicheler and Christian Schneider. We also wish to acknowledge the dedication of the team at the Embassy of Switzerland in Greece, as well as Georges Kotrotsios for his vision and leadership in bringing this initiative to life. With follow-up actions already underway, the focus now shifts from discussion to implementation, building on the relationships, ideas and opportunities identified during the meeting.
