DFAB alumnus Nicholas Hoban is now Director of Applied Technologies at the University of Toronto - John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design — where he oversees one of Canada's most advanced fabrication environments: a high-bay robotic cell at the heart of the Daniels building. The foundation for his knowledge of implementing #Robotics in architectural research was laid during his participation in the inaugural year of the MAS ETH DFAB in Zurich. We visited Nicholas in Toronto and talked with him about the very first steps in the MAS and #Timber, including lightweight active timber structures and reciprocal #TimberShells.
