His grandfather, an organist, sparked his passion for music at an early age, when he discovered the cello, which has remained a constant companion ever since. But for him, music is more than just a form of relaxation: it opens up spaces that words cannot capture and connects him to the existential questions posed by his daily professional life. In his view children can sense whether they are being told the truth. And this approach shapes not only his interactions with young patients but also his conviction: basic research is the key to sustainably improving the chances of recovery for children with cancer. It lays the foundation upon which new therapies are developed, and gives families hope where it is most urgently needed. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Listen to the wonderful episode here (in German only!): https://lnkd.in/dnetMzFT - with Raffaele Renella Petrova Lab โ€“ Vascular and tumor biology Bjoern Menze Didier Surdez Ana Guerreiro Stรผcklin Raphael J.
