At NAVBLUE, this International Women's Day is deeply personal. We are dedicating today to a woman without whom our journey would never have begun: Dorothy English. Following her recent passing, we want to celebrate her legacy as the ultimate pioneer and a perfect example of the give to gain philosophy. Dorothy was a self-taught force of nature. In an era of burgeoning tech, her meticulous code investigations with only pen and paper were legendary.She was the brilliant mind behind the Tankerage Analysis Tool; the very spark that ignited Navtech and eventually evolved into the NAVBLUE we know today. Those who had the honor of working with her say that calling her a "trailblazer" doesn’t even begin to do her justice. While she navigated a male-dominated industry with grace and unmatched skill, her colleagues fondly remember her dedication to learning concepts as the system evolved to use new technologies, including those that many today consider commonplace, like manual computer memory management. Beyond her technical genius, Dorothy was a champion for others. She provided the mentorship, support, and encouragement that paved the way for women at NAVBLUE to grow, lead, and thrive.
