Recent media reporting has contained several inaccuracies about Natural England's role on Dartmoor ponies. This includes a false claim that we have recommended a cull. We do not have the power to order a cull, and we have not advised one. Dartmoor ponies are part of the cultural and ecological identity of Dartmoor, and we’re working in partnership with commoners, landowners, and organisations such as the Dartmoor Hill Pony Association to support their future.
