We were pleased to participate this week in Opération CIEDS 2026, organised by the Centre Interdisciplinaire d’Études pour la Défense et la Sécurité of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, in collaboration with Centre Interdisciplinaire Mers et Océan – CIMO. The event brought together representatives from academia, industry, and defence organisations to exchange views on current and emerging challenges in defence and security, as well as related scientific and technological developments. We had the opportunity to engage with early-career researchers, students, and professionals working across science, engineering, and defence-related disciplines, as well as members of the military community. Several participants expressed interest in the activities of NATO STO and in potential areas for future cooperation. Discussions covered a range of topics including maritime and naval domains, CBRN defence, cyber defence, robotics, additive manufacturing, and quantum technologies. We look forward to continuing our engagements with this community, as we work to expand our network of experts.
