What IS philanthropy? 🤔 At its core, philanthropy is the giving of resources, most often money, to support the well-being of communities. Those gifts come from individuals, foundations, corporations, and nonprofits. But here's what we know: Native communities remain chronically underfunded and underrepresented, receiving just 0.4% of philanthropic funding despite being 2.9% of the US population. At NAP, we’re working to fix that. Through advocacy, education, and transforming the sector’s relationship with Indigenous communities, we are increasing philanthropic investments in these communities that support their self-determination, sustainability, and create a vision for a thriving future across generations.
