This week, National Intermodal brought our Sydney and Melbourne teams together for a company‑wide fireside chat to mark International Women’s Day. We centred the discussion on this year’s UN Women Australia theme — “Balance the Scales.” It highlights that fairness, opportunity and influence still don’t land evenly, including in transport and logistics, one of Australia’s most male‑dominated sectors. Our panellists reflected on the positive shifts already underway, highlighting how hiring practices, leadership visibility and pathways into the sector have strengthened in a relatively short time. They also spoke to the importance of creating a workplace where everyone feels supported and able to thrive. Thank you to Kate Bowman, Julia Hall and Angela Petousis for sharing candid reflections on career moments, sponsorship and how support is paid forward — and to everyone who contributed their commitment to our pledge wall. Across transport, logistics and infrastructure, we encourage ongoing, practical steps that help balance the scales — in hiring, in how project teams are formed, and in whose voice is heard. We also recognise the importance of industry‑wide initiatives that open doors for women considering a career in freight and logistics. National Intermodal is proud to be part of the Australian Logistics Council's Wayfinder Program, which strengthens pathways into the sector by connecting women with training, mentors and clearer visibility of the breadth of careers across Australia’s supply chains. #NationalIntermodal #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #BalanceTheScales #GenderEquality #Transport #Logistics #Infrastructure #Inclusion #Leadership
