As Australia’s largest intermodal freight project progresses in Beveridge, building the local skills base early will be critical to its long‑term success. National Intermodal and Kangan Institute are working together under a new workforce and skills partnership to support logistics and supply chain training connected to the Beveridge Intermodal Precinct. With established logistics and supply chain programs in Melbourne’s north, Kangan Institute brings practical training capability and community connections that can help translate major infrastructure investment into local workforce participation across Melbourne’s northern growth corridor. The partnership focuses on promoting existing accredited training, engaging local schools and communities, and testing practical initiatives that help learners understand how careers in logistics and supply chain operate in a real‑world context. This work builds on National Intermodal’s recent partnership announcement with Melbourne Polytechnic, further strengthening collaboration with local training providers and reinforcing a coordinated approach to developing the future logistics workforce in the region. By starting this work ahead of precinct operations, National Intermodal and Kangan Institute aim to strengthen awareness, readiness and access to logistics careers as the project develops.
