An effective new treatment for triple-negative breast cancer has emerged! š„ š Congrats to š£šæš¼š³ Rebecca Dent, šš²š½ššš ššš¢ (šš¹š¶š»š¶š°š®š¹), š”ššš¦, and lead author of a recently published Annals of Oncology study demonstrating positive findings from a Phase III clinical trial of datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) to treat aggressive and previously untreated triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). āšŖšµš š®šæš² š»š²š š§š”šš ššæš²š®ššŗš²š»šš š»š²š²š±š²š±? TNBC patients with previously untreated and advanced disease have poor prognosis and limited treatment options, especially when they are not candidates for immunotherapy. The TROPION-Breast02 trial, an open-label phase III trial, tested whether the antibody drug conjugate (ADC) Dato-DXd improves survival for this group of patients. In a study of 644 patients randomised to receive either the ADC or chemotherapy, Dato-DXd demonstrated significantly improved progression-free survival (10.8 vs 5.6 months) and overall survival (23.7 vs 18.7 months). š«¶ šŖšµš®š ššµš¶š šŗš²š®š»š š³š¼šæ š½š®šš¶š²š»šš: TNBC is an aggressive and devastating disease that hits women in the prime of their lives and new treatments give hope to patients and their families. The results of this clinical trial indicate a potential new breakthrough that improves treatment for TNBC. š„š²š®š± ššµš² šššš±š šµš²šæš²: https://lnkd.in/d9XnFY4N #NCCSResearch #CancerResearch #ClinicalTrials #TripleNegativeBreastCancer #BreastCancerResearch
