🗓️On July 1 1949, Dr. Albert Schweitzer delivered a keynote address at Aspen's Goethe Bicentennial Convocation, a landmark gathering that helped shape what would become the Aspen Institute. ⏳Almost 77 years later, that connection feels especially meaningful as our National Executive Director, Rachel Gold, heads to Aspen Ideas: Health, with huge thanks to a sponsorship from The Aspen Institute. 🌳The National Albert Schweitzer Fellowship is the living legacy of Dr. Albert Schweitzer. Today we have 5000+ alumni working across sectors who animate Schweitzer’s spirit of reverence for life - bringing innovation, collaboration and groundbreaking creativity to communities across the country and world. This spring we welcomed 253 new Fellows across our ten US chapters and from our 53 partner academic institutions to join this growing movement- they come from disciplines ranging from medicine and nursing to law, public health, social work, and the arts. 🩺We are grateful for the opportunity this week to join leaders from across health care, education, industry, philanthropy and the social sector to explore solutions to some of our nation's most pressing challenges - including what it means to build generations to come who know how to lead with purpose and partner authentically with communities. 🤝If you're attending Aspen Ideas: Health this week, we'd love to connect.
