Today, we celebrated the achievements of graduates from the NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE) who received their master’s degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation, and in Environmental Management. We also had the privilege of conferring the NUS Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters on Dr Kay Kuok and Professor Lim Pin – two exceptional individuals whose lifelong service and leadership have left an enduring impact on NUS, Singapore and beyond. Dr Kay Kuok’s remarkable contributions across education, tourism, healthcare, the arts and the environment have enriched Singapore in countless ways, and we are so grateful for her many years of dedicated service to NUS. Professor Lim Pin, our longest-serving Vice-Chancellor, led NUS from 1981 to 2000. His visionary leadership transformed NUS into a globally respected research-intensive institution, complementing his distinguished contributions to medicine, higher education and ethical policymaking.
