🩺✈️ 🤩 Some 10,000 metres in the sky, with no emergency room and only seconds to act, three Singapore senior emergency doctors stepped forward and saved a life! We are especially proud that these three extraordinary doctors — Dr Kanwar S. Lather, Dr Ian Mathews and Dr Michael Fung — are NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine alumni! When a passenger suffered a cardiac arrest on an SIA flight, their training kicked in and they acted without hesitation. For nearly 45 minutes, they worked tirelessly as a team in the confined cabin — refusing to give up — until the man’s heart began beating steadily again and he was able to breathe on his own. Their courage, skill and unwavering commitment embody the very spirit of medicine: to serve, to care and to save lives — anytime, anywhere. We are immensely proud of them!
