✨ There is good news in the latest National Adult Cardiac Surgery Audit (NACSA). ✨ After some difficult years during the COVID pandemic, waiting times for elective cardiac surgery in England have been falling. Following a peak in mid-2023/24, average waits are now just over 100 days - down from higher levels seen during the pandemic backlog. 📉 Complication rates after cardiac surgery have remained low throughout. ✅ This positive progress reflects the work of surgical teams, theatres, and NHS planners across the country. The NCAP data helps us see what is working and where variation between hospitals still needs to be addressed.
