Did you know that anxiety is the most common form of mental health condition faced by young people? However, prior to the mid-1980s, the idea that children and adolescents might experience anxiety was barely discussed. Commencing in 1992, a series of NHMRC grants funded research led out of Macquarie University and The University of Queensland to develop new, highly effective treatment methods to address childhood anxiety.
