Last week, the GreenShift consortium gathered at the Università di Pisa, Italy, for its plenary meeting — bringing together partners from across Europe to advance the development of a market-led educational programme at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, High-Performance Computing, and green mobility. NCI was represented by an outstanding team from the Cloud Competency Centre (CCC): Amanda Miranda de Andrade, Grace Herbert, Michael Bradford, Prof. Dr. Dietmar Janetzko, Dr. Adriana E. Chis, and Prof. Dr. Horacio González-Vélez made the journey to Pisa — a strong, dedicated team whose collective expertise and commitment reflect everything that NCI's CCC stands for. Over two days, consortium members from academia, industry, research, and innovation organisations worked together to align the programme with emerging industry and skills needs, develop core and elective curriculum modules, and strengthen the cross-sector partnerships that make GreenShift's vision possible. As our Project Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Horacio González-Vélez, put it: "The European Green Deal sets Europe on a path towards climate neutrality by 2050. GreenShift contributes to this transformation by equipping a new generation of professionals with advanced skills in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing — technologies that can accelerate the decarbonisation of transport and enable more sustainable mobility systems across Europe." With 14 partners and 2 associated partners from 9 EU countries, GreenShift is building a genuinely pan-European response to one of the most pressing skills challenges of our time: ensuring that the workforce driving Europe's green transition has the advanced digital capabilities to deliver it. NCI is immensely proud of Amanda Miranda de Andrade, Grace Herbert, Michael Bradford, Dietmar Janetzko, Adriana Chis, and Prof. Dr. Horacio González-Vélez for representing our institution with such distinction and for the significant contribution they continue to make to this vital field. Work of this nature — rigorous, collaborative, and genuinely impactful — is what positions NCI at the forefront of European research and education. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/dxSJC_Bw
