As a pioneering scientist, inventor, educator, and leader Paul R. Sanberg, FNAI, has spent decades advancing neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and translational research. But perhaps his most enduring contribution is one that extends far beyond his own discoveries. Through the founding of NAI, Dr. Sanberg helped create a global movement that elevated the role of inventors within higher education and inspired institutions around the world to embrace invention, innovation, and intellectual property as central to their mission. That inventive, pioneering spirit resulted in a wonderful, surprise culmination of NAI’s 15th Annual Conference when, just as Gala attendees were preparing to depart, Paul A. Sohl, CEO of the Florida High Tech Corridor, stepped onto the stage and invited the NAI Board of Directors to join him. “This incredible evening is not quite over, Dr. Sanberg,” said Paul. “You’ve given from the heart for 15 years with vision, passion, and energy.  Now we want to give back to you with this new award!” Fifteen years after founding the National Academy of Inventors, Dr. Sanberg received the inaugural NAI Visionary Award. Today, that vision continues through the thousands of inventors, innovators, students, faculty, and institutions whose work is improving lives and shaping the future. Please join us in congratulating National Academy of Inventors President, Dr. Paul R. Sanberg, on this special recognition.
