Before NASA’s groundbreaking innovations soar, extensive research and testing pave the way. Through years of computational studies and wind tunnel tests, NASA Langley developed the technology behind NASA’s Crossflow Attenuated Natural Laminar Flow (CATNLF) project. The project aims to improve the performance and efficiency of future aircraft by improving how air flows across a wing’s surface. The CATNLF project just completed flight tests at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center using a scale-model wing flown under an F-15. Together, we’re turning ideas into reality!
