I hope it’s clear now why Djed Spence was brought up. That little cameo should’ve been a teaser for everyone who kept saying he didn’t deserve a call-up. Just because he plays for Tottenham & yes, Tottenham had a poor season, doesn’t mean he isn’t a top player. A team’s performance doesn’t automatically define an individual’s quality! It’s similar to Harry Kane during his rise at Tottenham. If you watched Spurs week in, week out, you knew he was an outstanding striker long before everyone else caught on. But if you didn’t watch Tottenham, you’d probably dismiss him because the team wasn’t doing much. Watching a team consistently allows you to separate the genuinely outstanding players from the average ones, regardless of where the club finishes. The same applies to Djed Spence. If you’ve watched Tottenham regularly, you’d know he’s a very good player. Finishing 17th doesn’t change that. He brings a level of dynamism, athleticism & ball-carrying ability that few other English full-back offers, & his cameo was a glimpse of exactly that. Proud of you!
