In the supplement and functional ingredient markets, purity, nutritional value, and formulation performance all matter, but they are only one part of the story. The question to follow is: What does the ingredient actually do in a living system? In our latest case study with Yeastup AG, we evaluated UpFiber® Beta-Glucan, a yeast-derived functional ingredient, using our automated longevity platform SydLab™ One and Nagi™ B-Age, our phenotypic clock for biological age measurement in C. elegans. The results? UpFiber® Beta-Glucan showed dose-dependent effects across functional parameters and biological age. Trait-level analysis suggested a distinct biological-age signature, mainly associated with reproduction, followed by motility and intestinal parameters. The take-home message: Functional ingredients need functional biological validation. 👇 Find the full case study in the comments
