Yesterday, March 18th, 2026, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), alongside partners and key stakeholders, convened the GC8 Funding Request HIV Stakeholder’s Country Dialogue in Abuja. Led by Director General Dr. Temitope Ilori, National Coordinator of the National AIDS, Viral Hepatitis and STIs Control Program Dr. Adebobola Bashorun, and Executive Secretary of the Country Coordinating Mechanism Dr. Tajudeen Ibrahim, the dialogue focused on the strategic positioning and transition from Grant Cycle 7 to Grant Cycle 8. Discussions centered on a multisectoral approach, prioritizing cross-program integration, evidence translation, value for money optimization, and long-term sustainability and transition planning to secure funding beyond 2030 and ultimately transition from recipient to donor.
