Approved.” Behind the humour, there is a small Arctic lesson: the bearded seal is easily recognised by its long, dense whiskers, which help it find food on the seafloor. On our expeditions, encounters like this are observed with distance, silence and respect. Because the best photograph is always the one that does not disturb wildlife.
