The first day of the 10th Panhellenic Two-Day Conference of Pathology, entitled: “Laboratory Accreditation & Digital Pathology” , featured a distinguished Round Table Discussion on External Quality Assessment (EQA) Schemes, bringing together leading international experts in pathology quality assurance, laboratory accreditation and molecular diagnostics, both in person and online, chaired by Eleftherios Eleftheriadis M.D. PhD. MBA. IFCAP. ISUP and Dina Tiniakos. We were honoured to welcome: 🔹 Prof. Ales Ryska (MD, PhD, Professor, The Fingerland Department of Pathology, Charles University Medical Faculty Hospital, Hradec Králové, Czech) - Republic Lessons learned from ESP’s EQA programmes over the last 10 years 🔹 Dr. Kristi Bøgh Anderson (MD, Pathologist, Scientific Associate, NordiQC, Denmark) - IHC Assay Validation in Practice: The NordiQC Perspective and Current Dilemmas 🔹 Dr. Oliver Schnaedelbach (PhD, MBA, College of American Pathologists (CAP), Germany) - Method Validations in the Pathology Laboratory: Compliance with IVDR and the EU AI Act with the help of CAP 🔹 Mr. Thomas Henry (Scientific Programme Manager, EMQN CIC, Salford, United Kingdom) - Continuous Improvement in Molecular Pathology: The Role of External Quality Assessment 👉Through their presentations, participants gained valuable insights into external quality assessment, assay validation, laboratory accreditation, molecular pathology and regulatory compliance—key elements in ensuring quality, reliability and excellence in modern pathology practice. ▶ Their contributions enriched the scientific programme and underscored the importance of international collaboration, standardization and continuous quality improvement in advancing pathology and improving patient care. 👏 We sincerely thank our distinguished international faculty for sharing their expertise and contributing to the success of the 10th Panhellenic Two-Day Conference of Pathology!
