Easter is a time of renewal. In Ukrainian tradition, it’s symbolized through pysanky — decorated eggs that stand for hope and new beginnings. Lately, we’ve been thinking about what “new beginnings” actually look like for Ukrainians building their lives in Austria. Because beyond jobs and housing, there’s a bigger question that doesn’t get talked about enough: What comes after temporary protection? In our work, we see the same pattern again and again — many people are already closer to long-term options like the Red-White-Red Card Plus than they think. But it’s hard to act on that if you don’t have clarity: Do I already qualify? What’s still missing? Is it too early to start? So with Easter coming up, we decided to use this moment to nudge people to start looking into it. Just by helping them understand where they stand. Because in the end, it’s not just about applications. It’s about giving people enough clarity to make decisions about their future.
