🏆 That’s a Wrap! Yesterday, 10 June, Connecting Tomorrow was a huge success, bringing together more than 250 people to the Sigma Room for a full day of inspiring discussions, insights, and connections at Nexus Luxembourg. Throughout the day, we explored the hidden layers of connectivity in (e)sports and games. We started the morning with an interactive esports session with Lena Rocca accepting challenges from the audience while discussing with Luka Trenz and Loïc Cordeiro Fonseca about the importance of connectivity for the sector. Right after, we all embarked on an immersive and gamified experience with Matthieu Bracchetti. 🤝 This year we introduced a new feature: Pocket Networking, a 30-minute informal session designed to foster quick, meaningful connections among attendees and speakers. We hosted 3 pocket networking sessions during the day! The afternoon began with Minister Elisabeth Margue delivering welcome words, followed by a keynote from Julien Larios on Luxembourg’s race to full connectivity. Next, Mark Gallagher took the stage with a powerful keynote on the high-stakes world of Formula 1. The day continued with an exclusive video interview with Wolfgang Reip, former GT racing champion, sharing his unique journey bridging gaming and real-world motorsport. This was followed by a fireside chat with Marc Lis and Sarah Bovy, connecting live from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Lenny Kieffer, who at just 16 shared his remarkable journey bridging virtual and real-life tracks. Next, we explored how connectivity and technology are reshaping elite athlete performance with a panel featuring Raymond Conzemius, Alwin De Prins, OLY, Olga Barrera and moderated by Mikael Da Silva. We then examined the hidden connectivity battles behind global sports events with industry leaders in a fireside chat between Marc Lis and Claude Rach, followed by a panel with Gérard CARMONA, Yann Figuet, Bertrand ROJAT, moderated by Ben Klein. Finally, we discussed how the innovations powering modern smart stadiums are paving the way for the connected cities of the future in our final panel with Sébastien Faye, Michel Vandaele, Bruno Cavaleiro, Stefan Heldens and the moderator Karim Habib. We want to thank Minister Elisabeth Margue for her presence and welcome speech, all our speakers and panelists for their incredible contributions, the technical team who operated the screens from backstage, the participants who spent part or all of their first day of Nexus with us, and everyone who worked tirelessly to make this event a success, with special thanks to the MyConnectivity G.I.E. team, which once again proved that a connected team can achieve anything. Soon, we’ll publish a series of articles and videos capturing the key takeaways from the day. Stay tuned for highlights, insights, and more from this unforgettable day!
