One month ago, my team and I attended DubHacks, and I'm excited to share our experience with you all now! First off, ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐——๐˜‚๐—ฏ๐—›๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐˜€? DubHacks is "the largest hackathon in the PNW, and focuses on uplifting students who are passionate about using technology to solve real world problems." On October 12-13, we stayed up all night to create ๐— ๐˜† ๐—”๐—ฅ ๐—ฃ๐˜‚๐—ฝ, winning ๐Ÿญ๐˜€๐˜ place in ๐—ฆ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜'๐˜€ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ: ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘“๐ŸŽ‰! This AR lens combines fitness and augmented reality by letting users interact with a virtual pet as they exercise, pushing the boundaries of gamified wellness. โœจ The Breakdown: - ๐——๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป: Figma, along with plain paper and pen, were used for the AR interface, app prototyping, and mockups. - ๐Ÿฏ๐—— ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ฐ: Blender was used for creating our pup mascot and environment objects. After rendering, we added them to our spectacle lens, allowing users to interact with these 3D objects using their hands. - ๐——๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜: The lens and its functionalities relied heavily on Snapchat Lens Studio, Visual Studio, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Special shoutout to our mentors David, Court, Blake, and Sasha for guiding us through endless challenges (and lots of caffeine). And of course, a massive thank you to my dream team: Amy Lu, Arya Karki, and Sophie Choโ€”I'm so proud of what we've accomplished together! Lastly, a huge shoutout to DubHacks for bringing together so many amazing mentors, resources, and companies that made this unforgettable! Couldn't have asked for a better first hackathon experience ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Check out our project onย  Devpost https://lnkd.in/gzXFsxCKย  GitHub https://lnkd.in/gB7cQD5u
