🏗️ Topping out in Mannheim! One of our recent projects in Mannheim's Franklin Mitte district has reached its highest point. This timber hybrid building has 56 apartments and a commercial unit, with an open, grid-like structure with big balconies and a green façade, to support biodiversity and contribute to a vibrant, green urban centre. The external wall is made from timber resulting in a reduction of approximately 116 tonnes of carbon dioxide – the annual electricity consumption of 25 households. Rooftop photovoltaic systems and a connection to Mannheim's future district heating network reduce the building’s energy consumption.    🚧👷‍♂️ The building will soon be joined by its sister project, with start of construction in 2026. In addition to these buildings, our other Franklin Mitte projects Grüner Hügel and Traumhaus Funari are currently under construction, while The 'O' is nearing completion.   This topping out was celebrated last week with Mannheim mayor Ralf Eisenhauer, MWSP (GBG Unternehmensgruppe) managing director Achim Judt, Holger Heible and Hermann Brach representing developer RVI GmbH, and Christine Sohar, senior associate at MVRDV.
